Downloaded version .9 of Firefox. We'll give this a try while Microsoft works on fixing Explorer.
I'm also looking for spybot and virus programs. I'm trying Spybot - Search & Destroy right now. So far it's found one program, BDE Projector, which I'll need to investigate. It appears to be a rare breed. Lucky me.
